How Etsy Ads charges you, in Etsy’s words
You are charged each time a shopper interacts with your ads on Etsy and visits your listings.
You aren’t charged for views.
Your daily maximum budget can be set at or above a predetermined minimum set by Etsy, and you will not be charged more than your maximum budget on a daily basis.
All bids are made in United States dollars (USD).
Orders are attributed to ads when someone interacts with an ad and then buys any item in your shop within 30 days.
Your total budget spend shows how much you’ve spent on Etsy Ads in the past 30 days.
To calculate your average CPC for an advertised listing through Etsy Ads, divide your budget spent for the listing by the number of interactions the listing received.
ROAS compares the ad-attributed revenue to the ad cost.

What is a good ROAS on Etsy Ads?
There is no single number, because ROAS only compares revenue with ad cost. What you keep from that revenue depends on Etsy’s fees in your country and what the item costs you. Your break-even ROAS is revenue divided by what is left after fees and costs: below it the ads lose money, above it they pay.
A $30 item with $6 shipping, sold from the United States, at different costs per order:

What this calculator assumes
One item per order (one listing fee each), orders without sales tax, and listings priced in your payment account currency. Etsy’s attribution counts any item bought in your shop within 30 days of an ad interaction, so “orders from ads” can include sales that would have happened anyway — this calculator takes Etsy’s numbers as given.
Common questions
What is a good ROAS for Etsy Ads?
Anything above your own break-even ROAS. For a $36 US order that costs you $12, that is 1.79: below it the ads cost more than the orders leave you after Etsy’s fees and your cost. Etsy’s definition: “ROAS compares the ad-attributed revenue to the ad cost.”
How does Etsy charge for Etsy Ads?
Per click, up to your daily budget. Etsy: “You are charged each time a shopper interacts with your ads on Etsy and visits your listings.” and “Your daily maximum budget can be set at or above a predetermined minimum set by Etsy, and you will not be charged more than your maximum budget on a daily basis.”
How long should I run Etsy Ads before deciding?
Etsy’s own advice: “Before turning off an ad, it’s better to run it for 30 days to get a realistic idea of its performance.” Its Ads page reports the last 30 days, which is the window this calculator uses.
How do I work out my Etsy Ads cost per click?
Etsy: “To calculate your average CPC for an advertised listing through Etsy Ads, divide your budget spent for the listing by the number of interactions the listing received.” Enter your ad clicks above and the calculator shows your average and the most a click is worth to you.
Is Etsy Ads the same as Offsite Ads?
No. Etsy: “If you use Etsy Ads, you select your daily maximum budget, as set forth in more detail below. For Offsite Ads, fees are only charged if Etsy’s advertising your listing directly results in a sale, as set forth in more detail below.” Use the Offsite Ads calculator for those orders.
