Growtsy vs eRank
These two get compared constantly, and the comparison is usually unfair to both. eRank is a keyword research tool — the deepest and cheapest one Etsy sellers have. Growtsy is a decision tool that also makes your photos. If you want keyword volume tables, eRank is the better buy and this page will say so plainly.
Free plan: 1 Scout verdict · 1 full listing · 3 AI photos — a one-time allowance, no card. Not affiliated with Etsy, Inc. or eRank.
The one-line answer
eRank tells you what people search for. Growtsy tells you whether to make the thing, and whether the listing is ready to publish — then generates the photos. Those are different jobs, which is why plenty of sellers end up using both.
Price and limits
eRank figures are from eRank's own plans page, checked 15 August 2026. Both vendors change pricing — verify on the vendor site before you buy.
| Growtsy | eRank | |
|---|---|---|
| Free tier | 1 Scout verdict, 1 listing, 3 AI photos — one-time, plus 10 welcome photo credits | 5 keyword lookups/day, 1 shop (50 listings), 5 listing audits/day — renews daily |
| Cheapest paid | $9/mo (Starter) | $5.99/mo (Basic) · $5.50 annual |
| Mid tier | $24/mo (Growth) · $49/mo (Pro) | $9.99/mo (Pro) · $7.92 annual |
| Top tier | $99/mo (Pro Max) | $29.99/mo (Expert) · $22.50 annual |
| What the quota counts | Scout verdicts, listing analyses, AI photos — monthly | Keyword lookups per day, competitor shops tracked, connected listings |
eRank is cheaper at every tier. That is not a footnote — for a seller whose only question is "what should I put in my tags?", it is the whole decision.
Where each one actually wins
eRank is better at
- Keyword research depth. It is their core product, with years of Etsy search data and roughly two million sellers feeding usage signals into it. Nothing in Growtsy replaces that.
- Volume of lookups. 100–500 keyword lookups per day on paid plans. Growtsy has no equivalent — Keyword Studio is for expanding a specific listing's terms, not for bulk digging.
- Competitor shop tracking. Follow 5–200 rival shops and watch what they list. Growtsy does not do this at all.
- Price. $5.99 entry versus $9, and cheaper again on annual.
- Chrome extension. Research while you browse Etsy. Growtsy is web-only.
Growtsy does things eRank doesn't
- Pre-purchase niche validation. Scout answers "should I make this at all?" before you buy materials — against live Etsy market data. eRank starts after you have decided.
- A decision, not a dashboard. Every analysis ends in one line: publish now, improve first, fix the visuals, or wrong niche. No score to interpret.
- AI product photography. Photo Studio turns one product shot into listing-ready scene and lifestyle images, with a separate QA pass that flags images where the product drifted. eRank has no visual layer.
- AI listing generation. Title, 13 tags and description written against live market data, not a blank box.
- Timezone publishing planner. When to publish for 30 markets.
The honest part: what neither of us can tell you
Etsy's public data does not expose per-listing sales volume. Any tool showing you "this listing makes $4,200/month" has inferred it from review counts and shop age, and the error bars are wide. Growtsy refuses to print that number at all — demand is described qualitatively and labelled as directional. If a revenue figure is the thing you are shopping for, know that you are buying an estimate from whoever sells it to you, and price your trust accordingly.
Which should you buy?
Try before you decide — no account needed
These four run entirely in your browser, store nothing, and need no signup. They are the same standards Growtsy applies inside the product, minus the live Etsy data.
- Etsy fee calculator — every fee on its own line, 32 seller countries, and what you keep.
- Etsy title checker — the 140-character limit and the first 40 characters a buyer sees.
- Etsy tag checker — all 13 slots, the 20-character limit, duplicate coverage.
- Etsy photo checker — size, upload limits, and what the thumbnail crop cuts off.
Common questions
Is Growtsy an eRank alternative?
Only partly, and it would be dishonest to claim otherwise. If you use eRank mainly for keyword lookups and competitor tracking, Growtsy does not replace it — there is no bulk keyword database and no shop tracking. If you use eRank to decide what to make and whether a listing is ready, Growtsy is built for exactly that and eRank is not.
Is eRank still worth it in 2026?
For keyword research, yes. It is the cheapest serious option in the category, the data set is large, and the free tier is genuinely usable at 5 lookups a day. The limitation is not quality — it is that it hands you research and leaves the judgment to you.
Which is cheaper, Growtsy or eRank?
eRank, at every tier: $5.99 vs $9 at entry, $29.99 vs $99 at the top. Growtsy's higher price buys AI photo generation and listing generation, which carry real per-use compute cost that a keyword database does not.
Can I use eRank and Growtsy together?
Yes, and it is a sensible stack. Dig terms in eRank, validate the niche and generate the listing and photos in Growtsy. Together they run around $15/month.
Does Growtsy show sales estimates like eRank?
No, deliberately. Etsy's public API does not expose per-listing sales volume, so every $X/month figure in this category is inferred. Growtsy describes demand qualitatively and says when it is guessing.
Stop guessing. Ship the decision.
One Scout verdict, one full listing and three AI photos, free, no card. If it turns out eRank is what you needed, that is a fine outcome too.
