Each link is read through Etsy’s Open API — the same request the free listing checker makes. The tags are shown as Etsy returns them, in the same order, without rewording. Etsy’s own limits, from How to Use Tags:
You can use up to 13 tags per listing
Each tag can contain up to 20 characters.
With two or more links, a tag counts as shared when the same words appear as a tag on at least two of the listings (capital letters ignored). Nothing else is counted or ranked.
What this does not tell you
How many people search for a tag. Etsy’s API doesn’t give search counts; Etsy shows some search figures only to a seller, for their own shop. This page shows no search volume and no score.
Which tags bring the listing its views or sales. Etsy’s API gives neither views nor sales per listing, so a tag being on a listing says nothing about how well it works.
Whether you may use a tag. A tag that names a brand or character you don’t own isn’t yours to use: Etsy’s intellectual property policy doesn’t let sellers use names they don’t own.

How do I see the tags on an Etsy listing?

Can I see a competitor’s Etsy tags?
Yes. Tags are part of the public listing data Etsy’s API returns, so the tool reads them the same way for your own listing or anyone else’s. Paste up to 5 links to see which tags those listings share.
Does this show search volume for each tag?
No. Etsy’s API doesn’t give search counts, so this page shows no search volume and no score. It shows which tags a listing uses and, for several listings, how many of them use each tag.
Why does it say a listing was not found?
Etsy’s API returned nothing for that listing number, and Etsy does not say why. Check that the whole link was copied — it contains /listing/ followed by a number. Short etsy.me links cannot be read; open one and copy the full address instead.
Do you store the links?
Each link is sent to Etsy’s API and the tags are shown to you; nothing is tied to you. A listing’s result can be kept for up to 10 minutes so a repeat check doesn’t ask Etsy again. We count anonymously that the page was used and which kind of result it gave.
