Etsy fees, country by country

The five lines on every Etsy sale

Etsy does not charge one fee. It charges up to five, and only the first two are the same everywhere.

1. Listing fee — $0.20 per listing. Charged when you publish, and again every four months if the listing renews, or when an item sells and is relisted. Same in all 32 countries.
2. Transaction fee — 6.5%. Taken from the order total, which includes what the buyer paid for shipping and gift wrap. Same in all 32 countries.
3. Payment processing — varies by country. A percentage plus a flat amount in local currency: 3% + $0.25 in the United States, 4% + €0.30 across most of the euro zone, 6.5% + 14 TRY in Türkiye. This is the line that differs most.
4. Regulatory operating fee — 8 countries. Hungary 1.97%, Türkiye 1.67%, France 1.14%, Spain 0.88%, Italy 0.8%, Canada 0.5%, United Kingdom 0.48%, India 0.05%. Charged on the order total, on top of everything else.
5. VAT on Etsy's fees — 30 of 32 countries. Not VAT on your sale: VAT charged on the fees Etsy takes from you. Only sellers in the United States and Brazil pay none — the US because Etsy says it charges none, Brazil because Etsy's VAT article never names the country at all. In Hungary it is 27%, in Finland 25.5%, in Germany 19%.

All 32 countries in this table are on Etsy’s Etsy Payments eligibility list. Three of them — Brazil, India and Japan — are marked with an asterisk there and receive their money through a Payoneer Payment Account; Etsy says Payoneer’s own withdrawal minimums and conversion charges are additional, so they are not part of the fees above.

A $30 item with $6 shipping, sold from the United States

The buyer pays $36.00. Etsy takes:

• Listing fee $0.20
• Transaction fee, 6.5% of $36.00 $2.34
• Payment processing, 3% + $0.25 $1.33
• Regulatory operating fee none in the US
• VAT on Etsy fees none in the US

Total Etsy fees $3.87 — you keep $32.13 before your own cost of goods, packaging and postage. The same order from Türkiye or Hungary keeps noticeably less, because of the regulatory fee and VAT on fees.

Where these numbers come from

Every row was read from Etsy's own pages on 5 September 2026 and each country in the dataset carries its own source URL and verification date. The three sources are Etsy's fees and payments policy, the regulatory operating fee article, and the per-country payment processing table. EU VAT rates were checked against the Tax Foundation's January 2026 table. Brazil is the one country Etsy's VAT-on-fees article does not name in either of its lists, so the VAT column shows a dash for it: Etsy publishes nothing about adding tax to a Brazilian seller's fees. Brazilian sellers may still owe their own import-service taxes on a foreign marketplace's commission — but that is the seller's own liability, not a line Etsy adds.
