Paste a listing title and see whether it survives the 140-character limit, whether the part buyers actually read is doing any work, and whether it reads as keyword stuffing. Runs in your browser — nothing is stored or sent anywhere.
Etsy cuts the title at 140 characters. Anything past that is not indexed and not shown — it is simply gone. Most sellers who run over are repeating a keyword they already used.
On a phone — where most Etsy browsing happens — a search card shows roughly the first 40 characters before the title is cut with an ellipsis. To be clear about where that number comes from: Etsy publishes the 140-character limit, but it publishes no truncation figure at all. Forty is an observation from looking at real search cards, not a rule quoted from Etsy, and it moves when Etsy changes its layout — see the Etsy title character limit in full. Google's result snippet cuts at a similar point. Whatever sits after that still counts for search, but it does not sell the click. If your first 40 characters are "Handmade Beautiful Unique Gift Item For", the buyer has learned nothing about what the product is.
Etsy's own seller guidance asks for readable titles and warns against repeating keywords to game search. Repeating a word four or five times does not multiply its weight; it makes the listing look automated, and shoppers scroll past it.
Etsy’s own words, read 21 September 2026 on How to Create a Listing: “A listing's title can be up to 140 characters long.” and “Clearly state what the item is and any key details. Avoid repetition as well as subjective words (for example, ‘perfect’).”
It does not tell you which keywords to use. That needs live Etsy data — what people are actually searching, how crowded each phrase is, and what the top-ranked listings in your category are already saying. This page has no data behind it and will not pretend otherwise: it checks the structure of the title you wrote, not whether the words are the right ones. To find the phrases buyers actually type, see Etsy keyword research with Etsy’s own tools.
Long enough to carry two or three real search phrases, and no longer. Somewhere between 70 and 140 characters is normal. A 35-character title is usually leaving search terms on the table; a 140-character title is usually repeating itself.
Yes. Etsy’s Seller Handbook says “Shoppers only see the first few words of your title when they're looking at search results, so make sure you're using that space to describe what your item is.” Lead with the exact phrase a buyer would type.
Any of them work — Etsy treats them as separators. What matters is that each chunk between separators is a phrase someone might search, rather than a pile of loose adjectives.
No. Every check runs in your browser. The title you paste never leaves it, and there is no account. We do count anonymously that this page was opened and used, so we can tell whether it earns its place; that count carries no content and no cookies.
This page can tell you the title is well built. It cannot tell you whether "birth flower necklace" is a phrase worth ranking for this month. Growtsy checks your listing against live Etsy market data and returns one decision — publish, rewrite the title, fix the photos, or reposition — with the exact wording to use.
