The listings are the first 100 active listings Etsy’s Open API returns for your phrase, in Etsy’s relevance order — the same search the free tag generator reads. Each listing names its shop; the tool counts them. Then it asks Etsy for the record of each shop with the most listings. This is how Etsy’s API reference describes the shop fields shown:
- Sales —
The total number of sales (transactions) for this shop.
- Opened —
The date and time this shop was created, in epoch seconds.
Nothing is estimated or adjusted. If Etsy does not return a field, the page shows a dash. A shop whose record Etsy does not return is left out.
What this does not tell you
How much of this product a shop sells. The sales count is the shop’s total for everything it sells. Etsy’s API does not give sales per listing.
Revenue. Etsy gives the number of sales, not what they were worth, so this page does not show a revenue figure.
Who is winning. The order is how many of the first 100 results each shop holds for your phrase. It is not a sales ranking, and a different phrase can give different shops.

Who sells a product on Etsy?
Type the product as a buyer would search for it. The tool asks Etsy’s API for the first 100 active listings in that search, in Etsy’s relevance order, and counts how many of them each shop has. The shops with the most listings are shown with the sales count Etsy reports for each shop.
Does this show how many of this product a shop sold?
No. The sales count is the shop’s total across every product. Etsy’s API calls it “The total number of sales (transactions) for this shop.” Etsy doesn’t publish sales per listing, so no outside tool can see how many of one product a shop sold.
Why are the shops ordered by listings, not by sales?
Because that is the part that belongs to this search. A shop’s sales count covers everything it has ever sold, so ranking by it would mostly rank old, large shops. The order here is how many of Etsy’s first 100 results for your phrase each shop holds.
Does this show a shop’s revenue?
No. Etsy publishes how many sales a shop has, not what they were worth, so a revenue figure would be a guess. This page does not show one.
Do you store what I search?
Your phrase is sent to Etsy’s API and the shops are shown to you. The same phrase’s result is kept for up to 12 hours so a repeat search doesn’t ask Etsy again; nothing is tied to you. We count anonymously that the page was used and which kind of result it gave.
