Etsy fee calculator
Enter a price and see exactly what Etsy takes — every fee on its own line, for 32 seller countries. No signup, and the numbers you enter never leave your browser.
Etsy sets the fees; the listing is the part you control. Growtsy’s Listing Analysis reads one of your listings against live Etsy data and tells you the one thing to change first. Free account, no card.

Country-specific breakdowns
The calculator covers all 32 seller countries. These four have enough going on — regulatory fees, VAT charged on Etsy’s own fees, provincial variation — to be worth their own page:
- Etsy fees in the UK — the 0.48% regulatory fee and 20% VAT on fees, explained.
- Etsy fees in Canada — why your province changes the answer.
- Etsy fees in Australia — 10% GST plus the currency conversion fee.
- Etsy Gebühren Deutschland — 19% USt and what Kleinunternehmer status changes.
What Etsy takes in every seller country
A worked example so the numbers are checkable without touching the calculator: a $30 item with $6 shipping (a $36 order), with $8 of your own cost in materials, labour, packaging and postage. Sorted by what Etsy keeps. Every rate below was read off Etsy's own pages on 22 October 2026 — the fees policy, the payment processing table and the regulatory operating fee list. Check them yourself; that is the point.
| Seller country | Etsy takes | % of the $36 order | You keep |

| Hungary | $6.40 | 17.8% | $21.60 |
| Turkey | $6.92 | 19.2% | $21.08 |
The spread is real: the same $36 order leaves a seller in the United States with $24.13 and a seller in Turkey with $21.08. The difference is almost entirely VAT charged on Etsy's fees, local payment-processing rates and the regulatory operating fee in the countries that have one — not anything you can negotiate. Etsy Ads and Offsite Ads are excluded on purpose; see below. Flat fees Etsy charges in a local currency are converted to USD at the European Central Bank reference rates of 4 September 2026.
What each fee actually is
| Fee | What triggers it | Typical |
|---|---|---|
| Listing fee | Every listing you publish or renew, valid 4 months | $0.20 |
| Transaction fee | 6.5% of item price plus the shipping you charge | 6.5% |
| Payment processing | A % plus a flat amount in your local currency | 3–6.5% + flat |
| Regulatory operating fee | Some countries only (UK, France, Italy, Spain, Turkey…) | 0.05–1.97% |
| VAT on fees | Charged on Etsy's fees, not on your sale, in VAT countries | 0–27% |
Two fees this calculator leaves out — on purpose
Etsy Ads and Offsite Ads. Ads spend is a budget you choose, not a fee on every order, so folding it in would make every result look worse than reality. Offsite Ads is 12–15% but only on orders Etsy attributes to an ad it bought. Adding either as a flat percentage would be dishonest arithmetic. The Offsite Ads calculator prices that one order type on its own; the Etsy Ads calculator turns your last 30 days of ads into your own break-even ROAS.
Currency conversion. If your listing currency differs from your payment account currency, Etsy charges a 2.5% currency conversion fee on the sale amount — not included here; see Etsy’s currency conversion fee. Separately, Payoneer or your bank may apply its own rate when the money is converted again.
Sales tax on the order. Etsy’s payment processing page says: “The fees are taken from the item’s total sale price, including its shipping fees, and any applicable sales tax.” The calculator works on an order with no sales tax. Where the buyer is charged sales tax, add your country’s payment processing percentage of that tax — in the United States, 3%. Every country’s rate is listed on Etsy payment processing fees by country.

Common questions
Does Etsy charge 6.5% on shipping too?
Yes. The transaction fee applies to the item price plus the shipping you charge. So moving shipping into the price for free shipping does not change the fee: it is charged on what the buyer pays either way — see Etsy free shipping: the $35 guarantee and the $6 line.
Why is my effective fee rate higher than 6.5%?
Because the transaction fee is only one of four or five. Once you add payment processing, the listing fee, any regulatory fee and VAT on fees, a $36 order (a $30 item with $6 shipping) comes to 10.8% of gross from the United States and up to 19.2% from Turkey.
Are these rates current?
Every figure was re-read from Etsy's own pages on 22 October 2026 and the sources are linked above so you can check them yourself. That date matters: Etsy changed the regulatory operating fee in seven markets on 22 June 2026 — France went from 0.47% to 1.14%, Hungary gained a 1.97% fee that did not exist before, and Türkiye fell from 2.27% to 1.67%. Any calculator still showing the old numbers is quietly wrong. We keep a dated log of what changed at Etsy fee & policy changes.
Do you store what I type?
No. The whole calculation runs in your browser. The numbers you type never leave it, and there is no account. We do count anonymously that this page was opened and used, so we can tell whether it earns its place; that count carries no content and no cookies.
Knowing the fee is the easy half
The harder question is whether the product is worth making at all. Growtsy checks a product idea against live Etsy market data and gives you one decision — List now, Add value first, Fix visuals first, Reposition price or Skip this one — before you spend the time.
