Etsy tools for Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants
Growtsy runs a free MCP server, so an AI assistant can answer an Etsy seller’s question with that seller’s own live data instead of a guess: what to fix in a listing or shop, how many sales a shop has, who sells a product, what Etsy’s fees are in their country.
No API key, no Etsy login. Read-only: it never changes anything in a shop.
Add it to your assistant
- Claude (claude.ai, desktop): Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → paste
https://www.growtsy.com/api/mcp. - ChatGPT (plans with connectors / developer mode): Settings → Connectors → Create → MCP server URL
https://www.growtsy.com/api/mcp, no authentication. - Claude Code, Cursor and other MCP clients: add a remote HTTP server with the URL above. For example:
claude mcp add --transport http growtsy https://www.growtsy.com/api/mcp
Then ask in plain words: “Audit my Etsy shop CozyPrintsCo”, “How many sales does this Etsy shop have?”, “Who sells ceramic mugs on Etsy?”, “What are Etsy’s fees on a $30 sale in Turkey?”
The nine tools
Each one is the same tool a seller can open on growtsy.com, and every result includes a page link that opens that result in the browser.
| Tool | What it returns | Page |
|---|---|---|
etsy_listing_checkCheck an Etsy listing | Title, the 13 tags, photo sizes, video, renewal date, favorites and the first thing to fix, from Etsy’s API. | Open the page |
etsy_shop_auditAudit an Etsy shop | Up to 100 active listings checked against Etsy’s title, tag and photo rules; the shop’s first problem and how many listings have it. | Open the page |
etsy_shop_salesEtsy shop sales count | Etsy’s own sales count for up to 5 shops (the shop’s total, not per listing), active listings, favorites, opening year. | Open the page |
etsy_top_shopsShops behind an Etsy search | Who sells a product: the shops behind the first 100 listings of one Etsy search. | Open the page |
etsy_niche_checkEtsy niche facts | Etsy’s listing count for a phrase, USD asking-price spread, shared tags and title phrases. No demand verdict. | Open the page |
etsy_rank_checkListing position for a search | Where a listing sits in the first 100 results Etsy’s API returns for a phrase, and which words are missing from it. | Open the page |
etsy_shop_name_checkShop name check | Etsy’s shop-name rules and whether a shop already uses the name. “No shop found” is not “available”. | Open the page |
etsy_tag_ideasTags real listings use | The tags and title phrases the first 100 listings for a phrase actually use, counted once per listing. | Open the page |
etsy_fee_calculatorEtsy fees for one sale | Listing, transaction, payment processing, regulatory and VAT-on-fees for the seller’s country, from Etsy’s published rates. | Open the page |
REST and GPT Actions
The same tools answer plain GET requests at https://www.growtsy.com/api/tools/<tool name>, for example /api/tools/etsy_shop_sales?shops=CaitlynMinimalist. The OpenAPI 3.1 description is at /openapi.json — import it as a Custom GPT action.
What it does not do
- No sales or revenue estimates. Etsy’s API reports sales as one total per shop, nothing per listing.
- No search volume and no scores. Etsy’s API publishes no search counts.
- No logins and no writing: it reads public listing and shop data only.
- A small free daily limit for assistant requests; past it, the tool returns the page link instead.
Questions
What is the Growtsy MCP server?
A public, read-only Model Context Protocol server at https://www.growtsy.com/api/mcp. AI assistants that support MCP can call nine Etsy tools on a seller’s behalf: listing and shop checks, Etsy’s shop sales counts, the shops and prices behind an Etsy search, a listing’s position for a search, shop name checks, tags real listings use, and Etsy fees by country.
Does it need an API key or an Etsy login?
No. It reads public data from Etsy’s official Open API and Etsy’s published fee rates. It never asks for an Etsy login and cannot change anything in a shop.
Does it estimate sales, revenue or search volume?
No. Etsy’s API reports sales as one total per shop and publishes no search counts, so the tools show only what Etsy returns. There are no scores.
Is there a limit?
Yes. Assistant requests share a small free daily limit, separate from people using the tool pages. When it is reached, the tool returns a link to the same tool page, which the seller can open directly.
Is there a REST version for GPT Actions?
Yes. The same nine tools are available as GET endpoints at https://www.growtsy.com/api/tools/
Rewrite the listing, not just check it
Growtsy Listing Analysis turns a product photo or listing link into a title, 13 tags and a description, with one decision on what to do next.
